Availability
The band accepts new members in September and January. Acceptance is on a space available basis. We are strive to maintain a balance among the various instruments and are limited by the size of our practice facility. We have a very healthy membership but a waiting list is maintained when necessary.
Instrumentation
Our band is composed of typical concert band instruments – flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, euphonium, tuba and percussion. We also accept string and electric basses. If you can play one or more of these instruments, you can join!
Rehearsal Times & Location
We rehearse every Tuesday, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, in the music room of Ecole Beatrice-Desloges. The room is most easily accessed by entering the school from the North-side doors (directly facing Innes Rd) The band room is in the North-east corner of the school on the main floor (down the hallway, take your first left and straight to the end of that hallway).
Rehearsals and concerts run from early September to mid-December and from early January to June.
Do I need to audition?
No, but we ask for you try us out for a couple of rehearsals to see if you like playing with our group and for us to see if you’d be a great fit as well.
