Announcements and Music Selection for Oct 27th and Christmas Concert
Thank you to all who were able to join us on Tuesday night’s Bandathon and Fall Social. I know Lisa sincerely appreciates the one hour we share with her Senior Concert Band kids to offer them a glimpse of music after high school; I understand that Xavier and Lizzy are still depressed when they realized how far they still have to go after hearing Shawn take the last note of the piece up three octaves!! I also sincerely appreciate how everyone helped welcome Caroline to our family at our social afterwards. Thank you again to all of you for your participation.
We will be holding an Executive Meeting in the next week. Our main focus will be on our upcoming Christmas Concert on Dec 1st and our financial situation due to the band room rental costs. If you have any issues or topics you would like added to our agenda or would like to attend, please let me know within the next couple of days so we can adjust accordingly; Rahim your proposal will be on our agenda.
We have been unable to locate our Letters of Patent paperwork that officially documents our incorporation status. In order to save ourselves some money replacing this paperwork if anyone is heading to Toronto in the next few months and doesn’t mind picking this paperwork up on our behalf, please let Jacquie (jaembleton@gmail.com) know and we can provide you with the details.
As I’ve mentioned earlier our Christmas Concert will be held at Beatrice Desloges at 7:30 pm on December 1st. We will be hosting a food drive along with the concert. We are looking for volunteers to help with concert planning, organization and execution. The high school music director has agreed to allow us to use his music room, chairs, music stand and percussion equipment as long as we put all the equipment back exactly in its proper place. Please contact Cindy (cindykshaheen@gmail.com) as soon as possible if you are able to help out with any of these activities including the food drive!
