Announcements and Music for January 26th

All,

Good rehearsal this week. On behalf of our band I’d like to welcome Angie and Erik to our family!! The two of them are a great addition to our lower brass section with Angie joining our trombone and Erik our tuba section. Please join me in making our two new members feel welcome!

We held a very productive Executive Meeting this week. Minutes will be posted on our website and distributed for your information, review and comments shortly. As mentioned at rehearsal, we are considering moving the annual AGM to October. Several years ago our fiscal year was moved to July in order to match our performance year. At that time we should have also moved our AGM in order to allow a complete financial picture to be reported at our AGM. This topic is open for discussion, comments, or questions. Please feel free to offer your input. If no concerns are raised in the next two weeks, your Executive will vote on the motion “GCCB will hold it’s annual AGM in October” following our rehearsal on Feb 2nd.

Please take note of Fadi’s comment this week regarding cologne’s and perfumes. We have members of our band who have allergies and have difficult breathing due to strong scents. Apart from Fadi’s enjoyment and propensity to consume garlic, please be sensitive to your fellow members and go light on your colognes and perfumes especially at performances.
