Concert Feedback and Road Show Details
Good Morning!
I wanted to once more thank everyone for helping make last night a great evening. The feedback I’ve received has all be wonderful. Our smooth and relatively painless set up and tear down of the stage can only be accomplished with some dedicated effort and everyone helping out at the end. Luc has confirmed that BD is pleased with how the music room was found this morning. The music director mentioned that she had forgotten there was a concert last night as the room looked as it normally looks. I want to express a special thank you to the percussion section for looking after the large percussion instruments that we borrow from BD.
As you may or may not know, when I upload our video’s to YouTube so that I can paste the link on our FaceBook page it becomes part of the public domain. I try to make sure I tag our pieces with the composer and or arranger. This morning Randall Standridge, the composer of A Christmas Tale, posted the following comment on our video: “Congratulations on a great performance, band! I especially liked the incorporation of young audience members. Very nice! – Randall Standridge, composer “A Christmas Tale”. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll all be invited, all expenses paid to perform on the Ellen Show?
Fadi, thank you once again for your dedication and the passion you pour into our band. The smile on your face as the last note of your beautiful piece, Wistful Prayer faded away was wonderful to see!!
Depending on where you’re sitting during our rehearsals and performances it’s difficult to appreciate the balance and how our band as a whole sounds. After posting our video’s several of our band members have exclaimed, “Wow, Fadi has an incredible voice!!” I also see that Nearer My God to Thee is one of our top viewed video’s so far. Well done Fadi!! Hmmmmm, I just noticed that our program does not have you listed as a soloist on this piece!! Huge oversight on our part; I guess that’s what happens when we ask our conductor (who is also the soloist) for program input on who our soloist’s are….
Road Show details:
Based on space limitations our Road Show performances are half band. I leave it up to Section Leaders to decide who will be at which performance. Please let Fadi or I know if you have a solo in one of the pieces listed below and will not be at a performance. Note that our planned downbeat is at 7 pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 pm so that we can set up and tune before our downbeat. It has occurred in our past that a senior’s residence goes into quarantine due to an internal outbreak of an illness. We will confirm the day of our performances that everything is good to go and if weather or an illness closes down the residence we will try to let everyone know no later than 5 pm. Please check our Facebook, webpage or your email for last minute cancellations.
