Tonight’s Christmas Concert is a GO!!

All,

I’ve just spoken with Lisa and from the forecast as it currently stands we are going to go forward with hosting our Christmas Concert tonight.

The forecast calls for less than 1 mm of rain / hour for the next few hours. There is more rain forecast for around 7 pm but it is forecast to be rain and not freezing rain by then. For those that are interested I’ve included the links below where I found these details.

If you are not comfortable with this decision and or the rain turns to freezing rain in your neighborhood, please do not risk driving to our concert!! I will be departing from home (Vars) around 4:30 to head over the Beatrice Desloges for the stage set up at 5 pm. If you’re not able to make it at the last minute due to the weather, please text me at 613 294-7041.

Here are the websites I’ve been using:

Environment Canada Weather Warning at 1206 hrs

“Periods of freezing rain are expected this afternoon for eastern Ontario, especially at locales in the Ottawa Valley. The freezing rain will change over to plain rain later this evening as temperatures slowly rise above the freezing mark.

It appears that amounts will not be overly significant as the freezing rain will be rather light in nature. However, untreated surfaces may still become slippery, and freezing rain may last for 2 to 3 hours in some locales.”
